• Shooting locks down 2 DeKalb schools

    DEKALB COUNTY, Ga.,None - Two DeKalb County schools have been locked down in light of a shooting in the area.

    News Chopper 2 flew over Sagewood Circle, where police swarmed the area. The shooting happened around lunch time.

    DeKalb Schools spokeswoman Joye Burton said Idlewood Elementary and Stone Mountain Middle schools were locked down as a precautionary measure. Burton said authorities were searching for the gunmen at the Open Gate Subdivision near the intersection of Rays Road and East Ponce de Leon Avenue.
