• Rivalry Game No Contest As Heritage Shuts Out Rockdale County

CONYERS, Ga.,None - Only one team showed up in the annual rivalry game between Heritage and Rockdale County this year.

The Heritage Patriots moved to 4-0 on the season with a 41-0 shutout win over the Bulldogs of Rockdale County on the Sports Zone Thursday Night Game of the Week.

The Patriots used a trick play to get the scoring started. After having two touchdowns called back following penalties on the same drive, Heritage lined up for a fake field goal on third-and-goal. But Patriots starting quarterback Ryan Sutton wheeled out of his holder's position and found Dustin Moore for a 16-yard touchdown. The point after try made the score 7-0, and the Patriots were off and running.

Quami Stanley scored three touchdowns for Heritage, which led 28-0 at halftime. The Patriots remain unbeaten and lead the Region 8, Class AAAA standings.

Next week's Sports Zone Game of the Week features another rivalry, as East Paulding faces North Paulding. Viewers can watch the game on ME-TV, which is located on Comcast Channel 248 and Charter Channel 126.
