Former Vice President Joe Biden finally achieved his main political goal of the last 35 years, as he accepted the Democratic nomination for President on Thursday night, telling the nation that President Donald Trump has failed to do his job on the Coronavirus outbreak.
"He's failed to protect us. He's failed to protect America," Biden said of President Trump's actions on the Coronavirus.
"And my fellow Americans, that is unforgivable," Biden added.
Normally at a convention speech, that line would have drawn a thunderous ovation - but with no delegates on hand - Biden wrapped up the virtual convention with a speech that sounded more like an Oval Office address, serious in nature and tone.
“The tragedy of where we are today is that it didn’t have to be this bad,” Biden said from his home town of Wilmington, Delaware.
"Our current President has failed in his most basic duty to the nation. He's failed to protect us. He's failed to protect America. And my fellow Americans, that is unforgivable," Joe Biden says pic.twitter.com/qp7tRQ81vD
