• Police investigating naked woman found dead in northwest Atlanta

ATLANTA - Homicide detectives are working to identify a woman found dead on a northwest Atlanta street.

Investigators said they are not sure if someone dumped the victim near shrubs.

Police said her body was found near a grassy area near Vine Street.

“Last night, my dog didn’t bark. My next door neighbor, her dog didn’t bark,” resident Anna Allen said.

Allen said she wants to know what happened at the end of her block.

“We need to investigate. I’m not being nosy, but I’ve been living here for a long time. This is at my back door,” she said. “I basically can look out my window and over into the backyard. But to hear something, no.”

She watched as officers surrounded the grassy area where the woman’s body had been dumped.

Allen said the victim was lying on her stomach, was bright-skinned and stripped naked.

“A little before 1 p.m. Tuesday, an officer was on patrol in the area and actually discovered the body of the female victim just off the roadway,” Atlanta Police Capt. Paul Guerrucci said.

Atlanta police officers went door-to-door, but so far, said no one has reported seeing anything strange.

“It’s scary, and I have little ones that I let go and play on the other side of the street. Now I know, it’s not safe,” Allen said.

An autopsy has been scheduled Wednesday morning, investigators said.
