• One killed in shooting at metro Atlanta music studio

ATLANTA - Police are investigating a deadly shooting at a music studio in southeast Atlanta.

It happened at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday at a warehouse building on Lakewood Avenue.

Police say they found 22-year-old Anthony Hill, Jr. dead when they arrived. Lt. Charles Hampton with the Atlanta Police Department says Hill was shot several times, including once in the head.

Hill’s sister told Channel 2 she first heard about the murder on Instagram. They say they hope social media will help catch the killer.

“The same way we found out where he was, let us find out that same person that did it. Bring that devil to faith. Let that devil be revealed,” said Hill’s sister Lakeisha Patterson.

Police say a large group was gathered at the studio when the shooting happened and around a dozen people witnessed the shooting.

They took two people in for questioning.

The parents of one of the men put in the back of a patrol car told Channel 2’s Steve Gehlbach their son was standing next to his friend when he was killed. They say he ran from the building because he was scared.

Investigators are working to determine if there was more than one person involved in the shooting.

“(We) don’t know if it was just one gunman or an exchange of gunfire,” said Hampton.

Police have not identified a suspect yet, but told Gehlbach they do not believe the shooting was random.

Hill’s family is planning a vigil to remember him Sunday night at 6:30 in front of the Macy’s at Greenbriar Mall.
