JACKSON, Miss. — A former mayor and former school principal says he used a paddle to stop a would-be-thief trying to steal from his Mississippi home.
Former Jackson Mayor Tony Yarber says he confronted an armed juvenile breaking into his truck Sunday.

Cell phone video shows Yarber holding the boy in the garage and paddling him until police arrived.
"When you break into people's stuff it becomes someone whooping your tail,” Yarber can be hard saying in the video.
Yarber said the boy had a weapon.
This is the second time Yarber had to protect his family from burglars.
