Multi-car crash closes Cumming Highway

Several people were injured in a multi-car crash on Cumming Highway at Beavers Road in Cherokee County on Wednesday afternoon.
Crews have closed all lanes as they work to investigate and clear the accident.
At least four cars were involved in the wreck, including a Toyota, two pickup trucks and a tractor-trailer.
Four people were taken to the hospital. A medical helicopter was called in to transport at least one victim from the scene. Channel 2’s Richard Elliot learned that victim is a 15-year-old boy who was pulled from one of the pickup trucks.
Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident. Authorities have not said when they might reopen the road.
