Man Receiving Calls Meant For Atlanta Police

ATLANTA — A metro Atlanta man said he is hoping someone will correct a mistake that has sent him a flurry of phone calls from people trying to reach the Atlanta Police Department.

YellowPages.com lists Charles Johnson's cell phone number as one of the numbers for the APD.

The Cherokee County man said for the last six weeks, he has gotten phone calls from people wanting to do everything from reporting serious accidents to filing police reports.

"Time is precious, spending two minutes making a phone call and finding out it's not the police department could be the difference in life and death," said Johnson.

Johnson said he doesn't want to change his number because it's a business phone.

Channel 2 Action News tried to reach YellowPages.com about the problem, but was unable to do so.
