CHANNEL 2 SPECIAL: Andrew Young, 90 years of impact

ATLANTA — WSB-TV Channel 2 will air a primetime special on March 9th, at 8 p.m. to celebrate Ambassador Andrew Young’s 90th birthday.

“We are honored to celebrate a Georgia icon who has touched so many people’s lives and served as a pillar of leadership for decades,” said Ray Carter, Vice President and General Manager at WSB-TV. “His dedication to building communities and inspiring unity across the world has made it a better place for all of us to live.”

This one-hour show is hosted by Channel 2′s Lori Wilson and Justin Farmer. The special looks back at Young’s work during the civil rights movement, his time as a U.S. Congressman, a U.N. Ambassador and a 2-term Atlanta Mayor. The philanthropist and life-long minister also shares what’s next in his journey as he prepares to reach another major milestone.

In addition to the special primetime program, Channel 2 Action News will cover portions of Young’s 4-day birthday celebration. Starting at noon. on March 9th, the 90 Minutes of Global Prayer for World Peace will take place. The highlight of the service will be the “Peace and Reconciliation” sermon by Young.
