• Neighbor injured with olive jar during dispute


    CLARKE COUNTY, Ga. - A  woman is facing charges after allegedly hitting a man with a jar of olives during an argument.

    Athens-Clarke County police said the incident happened Thursday at a residence on College Avenue.

    Darrell Gene Meadows told police his neighbor, Tammie Elaine Johnson, struck him with an unknown object during an argument. Police followed up with Johnson, who told them she hit Meadows with a jar of olives, which cut him above one of his eyes.

    She was arrested and charged with assault.

    Meadows was taken to a hospital to treat his injury.

    Police have not released the cause of the neighbors' argument.
