ATLANTA — There are a few lingering scattered showers and storms Tuesday afternoon after a busy morning across north Georgia.

Some storms that moved through brought heavy rain, gusty winds and lightning to parts of metro Atlanta.

The rain tapered off through the afternoon as a cold front slid north. Highs reached the mid-80s -- a trend that will continue this week.

The heaviest rain is falling in south metro Atlanta.

12:18 p.m.:

Thuderstorms are moving south of Athens, with winds of 30-40 mph wind gusts.

12:03 p.m.:

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brad Nitz said storms are moving across parts of south metro Atlanta.

10:48 a.m.:

Very dry and slightly cooler air is coming behind a cold front moving through later today.

9:25 a.m.:

Scattered showers continue across metro Atlanta.

7:20 a.m.: 

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brian Monahan says low temperatures will be in the 60s and 50s tomorrow.

6:40 a.m.: 

Showers were moving through parts of Gwinnett and Hall counties.

6:05 a.m.:

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brian Monahan says the Grady Curve is getting some rain but the heaveist is north of the Downtown Connector.

5:20 a.m.: 

Downpours stretch from Carroll County to Cobb and north Fulton counties. The rain is headed east.
