UGA's Aaron Murray tears ACL; surgery scheduled Tuesday

ATHENS, GA — Channel 2 Sports Director Zach Klein has confirmed University of Georgia record-setting senior quarterback Aaron Murray will undergo surgery Tuesday at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens to repair a torn ACL suffered in Saturday's 59-17 victory over Kentucky.

The injury to his left knee occurred in the second quarter.  He was taken to St. Mary's hospital where an MRI was performed, according to UGA officials.  He was
re-evaluated by team physicians Sunday morning.  Murray experienced minimal swelling and it was determined to proceed with the surgery this week, officials said.

Post-surgery rehabilitation will begin immediately and a full recovery is expected.
