• Toy drive held after storage break-in

    Updated:

ATLANTA - A toy drive is under way to save Christmas for disadvantaged children in metro Atlanta.

Someone stole $10,000 worth of toys and gifts from a storage unit Nov. 30. The LIFT Community Development Corporation, a College Park charity, planned to give away the items to families at a holiday event.

Organizers hope the public will help make that goal possible Tuesday by dropping off toys intended to make the holidays special for 400 kids. The toy drive will be held until 3 p.m. at 5134 Old National Highway in College Park.

Kiss104.1 FM host Cynthia Young will be at the site and she's giving away gift bags to those who donate, and concert tickets to those who can bring significant monetary contributions.
