"It's not the kind of thing you expect when you lay home at night," said Claudia Howard, the victim in this case.

Surveillance video captured armed thieves rummaging through her car.

Howard said she heard the thieves making the rounds in the neighborhood at around 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

Police said they spotted a stolen Nissan Altima nearby, at Atlanta Road and North Church Road thirty minutes later.

Officers tried to make a traffic stop but, they said the driver kept going.

"The vehicle went ahead and fled from them going speeds at about 95 mph," said Sarah O'Hara, with Cobb County Police Department.

The responding officer called off a pursuit due to safety concerns.

Other officers in the area helped keep an eye on the car until it crashed near I-285 and Hollowell Parkway.

Police found a gun when they arrested Tramon Douglas, 18, and Jaquez Ivey, 18, along with Rashael Jones, 17.

Cobb police said this is just one of many recent car break-ins in area neighborhoods.

"Entering autos currently are the only area of crime where crime is up," said O'Hara.

Howard said after three break-ins in six months, she's thankful her new cameras came in handy.

"You want to be in a safe area but, at the same time, you have to be vigilant," she said.
