Thieves make off with car, gun as driver runs into store to get drink, police say

SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — A stolen gun is now in the hands of a criminal following a slider crime in Fairburn.

The incident happened at the QT convenience store on Senoia Road.

The victim, Bryce Brock, told officers he parked his car and ran inside to get a drink. Brock said he left his car running but locked the car doors.

While he was inside the store, he said that's when the thieves made their move.

“Two of them hopped out, and they broke the window and slipped in," Brock said.

The father of three told Channel 2's Michael Seiden that the thieves drove off in his black Jeep Grand Cherokee. The car has University of Georgia and Black Panther decals on the back windshield and his Instagram handle on the bumper.

“My wallet was in there, ID cards, credit cards, debit cards," Brock said.

The concealed carry permit holder was also driving with his Glock 42.

The thieves didn't stop there. The following day, police said one of the thieves showed up to the Greenbriar Mall in southwest Atlanta, where he attempted to purchase shoes with one of the stolen credit cards.

Sarah McClure is Brock's fiancee. She told Seiden that she feels horrible about what happened but she's now hoping that this incident will make other drivers think twice before they leave their vehicles running.

Fairburn police are working to identify four suspects.
