Teens charged with intimidating students who accused coach of sexual battery

FAYETTE COUNTY, Ga. — Six young men are facing charges of witness intimidation and vandalism in a case related to the sexual battery arrest of a popular high school coach.

Peachtree City police confirm five McIntosh High School student-athletes and a Newnan teen confessed to vandalizing the homes of assault victims, who told police they’d been sexually abused by David Munoz.

Munoz, the school’s former head baseball coach, was arrested and charged with sexual battery in April.

The suspects  turned themselves in at the Fayette County Jail or the Peachtree City Police Department Tuesday night.

Bradley Ector, Ethan Ange, Ahmad Ragland, Kaemon Gooden, Tyson Wright and Ashton Blackmon are all 18 years old, according to police.

According to police, the May 13 damage to the two homes totaled $10,000.

“We’ve got damaged roofs, a damaged car, broken window, (and) exterior damage to shingles and paint,” said Lt. Odilia Bergh. “And we take it seriously. No victim should be made to felt like they can’t come forward and we want to avoid any more problems like this.”

An incident report also indicated the homes were egged.

In a letter obtained by Channel 2 Action News Wednesday morning, McIntosh High School's principal echoed police, asking parents to speak to their kids about the incident.

"…Please take this opportunity to talk to your students about the seriousness of their actions, both on and off campus," wrote Principal Lisa Fine. "What students think to be a harmless act often ends up more serious than they thought, resulting in consequences that can negatively impact their future."

“We just don’t want kids affected for the rest of their lives by these emotional choices that they make right now,” Bergh said.

The father of one victim declined to speak on camera, saying he preferred that the case play out in court. He warned against public opinion based on rumors in the case.
