SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. - Authorities are investigating after a woman was found dead behind a dumpster in South Fulton County Thursday morning.
Investigators at the scene on Janice Drive in East Point told Channel 2’s Lori Wilson that the woman was stabbed to death.
Police say this is a homicide and they're looking for whomever is responsible for the woman's murder.
Police say the victim appeared to be in her late 40s and did not have any identification on her.
"I'm really shocked and surprised that this is going on right now. I never had problems. No problems at all," said Cherida Marshall, who lives in the apartment complex.
Marshall said it is a quiet neighborhood; she just moved out a few weeks ago.
"I don't know if she lived here, where she's from, but I just ask God to keep her family, especially if she has children, because now, they have no mother," she said.
Arlene Edwards said she's been in the neighborhood five years and has never had any problems.
"Everybody knows each other, there's a lot of children here, a lot of people that lived here years. A lot of older people. It's very safe to my knowledge, but this right here, makes you think otherwise," Edwards said.
