SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. - Police are trying to figure out who shot and killed a man in South Fulton County.
Officers were on the scene of the homicide investigation at Blue Fin Trail and Mastiff Road in the city of South Fulton early Wednesday morning.
Police told Channel 2's Kristen Holloway they know the person who did the shooting and are working to issue a warrant for his arrest.
On Friday, a medical examiner identified the victim as Chris Floyd, 21, of South Fulton.
The suspect has not been identified.
The shooting happened outside a home on Mastiff Street. Police found a man’s body lying in the grass between a green house and a blue house.
Holloway saw about four patrol cars there. Mastiff Street was blocked for nearly five hours trying to piece together what led up to the shooting.
Investigators said they first got a call around 11 p.m. that shots were fired, and they got another call around 2 a.m. Wednesday of someone reporting there was body in the grass near a house.
When police got to the scene, they found the man dead with a gunshot wound to the back.
One neighbor told us she awoke to about six or seven gunshots.
“Like, they were right at my front door. That’s how close it sounded,” the neighbor said. “Of course, I panicked. I’m afraid. It makes me afraid for my neighborhood and my children.”
