‘Armed and dangerous' brothers sought in man's murder

SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Fulton County police are looking for a pair of brothers who they say shot and killed a man who was at a gas station trying to help his friends change a tire.

Channel 2's Christian Jennings spoke Thursday to the victim's mother and sisters, who said the young man's 7-year-old daughter will suffer most because of this.

The shooting happened in the parking lot of a Valero gas station on Fulton Industrial Boulevard where an argument led to the shooting of Elliott Johnson.

“We are all having a hard time but at same time, we’re very strong. Our faith is strong and that’s what’s gotten me through,” mother Jenese Hill said.

Hill told Jennings that she is struggling to cope with the sudden loss of her son.

“He was the love of my life. A grown man but still my baby,” Hill said.

Hill and her two daughters told Jennings that they lost a man who was a devoted father to a 7-year-old girl. They said Johnson was a person who liked to joke around and who loved helping others.

“He so loved his daughter. He really, really loved his daughter. She was the apple of his eye,” Hill said. “She’s very saddened. She wants to see him again, of course. I don’t think she can quite comprehend that she won’t see him again.”

Fulton County police say Frederick Stephenson and Wayne Finnie are the primary suspects in Johnson’s killing and are considered armed and dangerous.

“They took someone away who was loved,” Hill said.

Police say there are still persons of interest in the case.

“I have no idea who these people are, none whatsoever,” Hill said.

Hill told Jennings that the friend who called Johnson out Tuesday night to help change a tire originally called him to a different gas station but apparently there wasn't an air pump there so they went to the Valero gas station instead.

Anyone with information about the two men is asked to call the Fulton County Police Department at 404-613-6600 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
