Laron Lowe’s family held his newborn son as they gathered Saturday at his neighborhood park in Decatur. %
“I can't figure out why they would take his life for no reason. It was very senseless,” his mother said.
His family described him as a loving father and said they are struggling to understand why someone wanted him dead.
“He had a smile that would brighten up anyone’s day,” Gwendolyn Lowe said.
The accused shooter, Malcolm Pitts, turned himself in on Wednesday.
Two other suspects were also arrested and charged with murder in connection to Laron Lowe’s death.
