Man and girl injured in early morning shooting in southwest Atlanta

ATLANTA — Atlanta police are investigating a shooting that wounded two people.

Officers were dispatched to 201 Moury Avenue at around 2:50 a.m. on Sunday, May 7, 2023, to a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found evidence of shots being fired, but could not locate any victims.

About 30 minutes later, officers learned a 16-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man had been taken to the hospital by a private vehicle.

The girl suffered a gunshot wound to the arm and the man had a gunshot wound to the arm and leg.

Both victims were in stable condition.

Investigators were able to recover multiple shell casings from the scene as well as other evidence.

Officers were able to locate several buildings that were struck by the gunfire.
