Man killed, 16-year-old girl injured in shooting at gas station

SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities say a man was killed and a 16-year-old girl was injured in an early morning shooting at a gas station in College Park.

Channel 2′s Steve Gehlbach went to the Chevron on Old National Highway around 6 a.m. where police had blocked off the entire lot.

Authorities said the shooting began after an argument.

Gehlbach says he counted more than 30 shell casing markers leading from the entrance to the food mart to an SUV parked outside.

Two cars with bullet holes were towed away from the scene.

The victim was identified as 29-year-old James Brown.

The store’s clerk was inside when the shooting happened. He said he ran to the back of the store to take cover.

“I just heard the sound and went to the cooler, went back to the cooler,” the clerk told Channel 2 Action News. “All the policeman came, that’s all I saw. I came out when the police came.”
