FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — A county commissioner in the city of South Fulton is holding a toy drive to give to children of men incarcerated.
The toy drive begins today, and it is in its sixth year. It’s a joint effort with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.
Channel 2′s Kristen Holloway was at the Fulton County Government Center this morning – it’s one of three toy drop off locations for the Dads, Daughters and Dolls Plus Sons drive.
In previous years, the children and their mothers would pick out gifts and wrap them during a wrapping party. Because of the pandemic and with COVID-19 cases on the rise, this year will look a lot different.
Fulton County Vice Chairman Marvin Arrington said this is an effort to collect new dolls and other toys for children of men incarcerated in the Fulton County jail.

Organizers will have two drive-through locations where they will hand out gifts and handwritten letters from children’s fathers.
Farrington said he hopes they still have the same support this year from the community as they’ve had in previous years.
“It could be anyone of us that could be incarcerated over the holidays and we have to just think about others,” Farrington said. “If it were you, you would want someone to stand in that gap for you and provide Christmas and toys for your children so just think about others. This is the season for giving and the season for being thankful.”
This drive takes place from November 30, 2020, through December 11, 2020, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Participants are asked to contribute toys for children between the ages of 1 and 12 by dropping off donations at the following locations:
