Sheriff’s office searching for 2 ‘persons of interest’ in Cherokee County homicide

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities are searching for two women they want to speak to about a homicide in Cherokee County.

The sheriff’s office said they found 41-year-old JonDavid Russell Johnson dead near the intersection of Wade Green Road and Highway 92 in Acworth on June 26.

Investigators found about 9 ounces of Methamphetamine in Johnson’s hotel room after he was killed. It appears the killing was drug related.

Authorities are now asking for help finding two “persons of interest” in connection to the homicide: Krystal Dianna Campbell, 30 of Gordon County and Shene Lucretia Kirk, 33 of LaFayette.

Campbell’s car was found abandoned in a remote part of Gordon County the day after the homicide. Campbell and Kirk have active arrest warrants for previous criminal activity.
