Severe weather from Hurricane Delta rolled into Hall and Habersham counties on Saturday

HALL COUNTY, Ga. — Severe weather from Hurricane Delta made its way into metro Atlanta Saturday evening. Strong winds and heavy rains hit Hall and Habersham counties extremely hard.

Channel 2′s Tom Regan went to both areas to survey the damage.

During the peak of the storm, Habersham county was pounded with 9-10 inches of rain in one hour. The downpour caused heavy flooding within the county.

'We had to use boats and four wheelers", said Lynn Smith, EMA director of Habersham county. “We had people trapped in homes, on top of homes. We have a couple of homes destroyed because of flood waters,”
