• Roadwork causing delays for metro drivers

ATLANTA - Construction projects are causing some big delays in metro Atlanta.

Channel 2’s Amanda Cook spotted backups on Interstate 285 eastbound at Riverside Drive in north Fulton County.

The Georgia Department of Transportation said three left westbound lanes on I-285 are closed for bridge work between Roswell Road and Ga. 400. Bridge work has also shut down two right eastbound lanes on I-20 from Wesley Chapel Road to Panola Road.

GDOT warns of various lane closures around the perimeter for drain cleaning.

These are some of the nearly 30 road projects that GDOT is working on in metro Atlanta this weekend as crews take advantage of the fair weather.

Meanwhile, Braves fans are urged to take MARTA to Sunday night’s game or take surface streets through downtown. Drivers can monitor traffic delays and alternate route information with the WSB-TV free traffic app.
