TROUP COUNTY, Ga. — Severe storms in west Georgia brought large hail and at least one confirmed tornado Sunday morning.
Channel 2 Action News viewers in Troup County sent pictures of hail that they described as “the size of golf balls.”

One photo sent to Channel 2 Action News showed hail covering a large portion of a Walmart parking lot.
Another viewer in LaGrange sent pictures of her car damaged by the large hail.
It is unclear if the large hail injured anyone.
The National Weather Service reported that the hail was the size of a quarter.

Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz said at least one tornado touched down during the storm.
The tornado downed trees, damaged buildings, and left people trapped in their homes Sunday morning.
It’s unclear how many people were injured. Crews are still working on getting to people who are trapped.
