After record high, weather to get February feel

Rainfall prediction this weekend.

ATLANTA — After record-breaking warm weather Friday, things will begin to feel more like February again this weekend in metro Atlanta.

Severe Weather Team 2 is tracking the timing of the showers, on Channel 2 Action News at Noon.

Atlanta hit 78 degrees Friday afternoon, breaking the record-high temperature.

The previous record-high temperature of 77 degrees was set in 1982.

Cooler temperatures and rain are expected, as well as some noticeable wind, Severe Weather Tearm 2 meteorologist Brian Monahan said.

“We’ll be shifting things to where they should be this time of year,” Monahan said.

Showing the quick shift, temperatures could drop to 33 on Saturday night. But the 40 percent chance of rain Saturday morning should give way to clear skies later in the day and evening, Monahan said.

The high is expected to be at 61 on Sunday, with virtually no chance of rain.
