Police searching for three men accused of sexually assaulting teen at birthday party

ATLANTA — Police are searching for three men that accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl.

Investigators released sketches of the men to Channel 2 Action News that they say attacked the girl at a party.

Police say a 15-year-old girl was at a party at a friend's house in the Washington Park neighborhood when the three men cornered her alone and sexually assaulted her.

"This is the most egregious thing that you can do. Especially to a juvenile," said Lt. Celeste Murphy with the Atlanta Police Department

Murphy says on Jan. 20, the teen was at a home in northwest Atlanta. That night was her birthday. She realized she misplaced her money and went looking for it.

"(She) went into the bathroom. The three males followed in behind her blocked the doorway," Murphy said.

Murphy said the teen asked the men what they were doing.

"The two males that held her down said, 'You know what it is,' and the third black male said, 'happy birthday,' and raped her," Murphy said.

Investigators working the case now believe all three men may live in the Pittsburgh neighborhood in southwest Atlanta. One of them seen in the sketch could be as young as 16.

"He has dreads with gold tips at the edges. His name is Jamie," Murphy said.

One of the men is known by the nickname "Reckless" and has a neck tattoo.

The third man also has a neck tattoo of the No. 20.

Viteri went to the Pittsburgh neighborhood Thursday night. A man who only identified himself as J.D. told Viteri he didn't recognize the men but hopes someone does.

"I hope they find them because I've got little nieces and nephews walking around here. I don't like that," J.D. said.

"The reason why we're reaching out is because we need the support to make sure these three men are apprehended," Murphy said.

Atlanta police want to hear from anyone who knows the men. You can call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477 if you have information on their whereabouts. You can also remain anonymous.
