Police: Murder victim's car, dog missing after shooting

ATLANTA — Police are searching for a killer after a man found his roommate shot to death in southwest Atlanta late Monday night.

Investigators say the victim's convertible and dog are now missing.

The victim's roommate arrived at his home on the 1000 block of Allegheny Street and found him face down on the bed.

"After checking him out it appeared he suffered a gunshot wound to the head," said Atlanta Police Maj. Adam Lee III.

Friends of the victim, identified as Quintavius Waters, 23, said he did security work for a popular rap artist in Atlanta.

“I’m just wondering what happened. I want to know how this happened,” said Waters’ friend Marco Hill.

Friends described Waters as a great guy who never gave anyone any trouble.

“He was a good person in the community, and what ever happened to him, he didn't deserve it,” one friend said.

Police say there was no sign of forced entry, which leads them to believe Waters may have known his killer.

"Whoever did this apparently they were invited in or they know the subject," Lee said.

The victim's dog is a Yorkie and his car is 2001 black Ford Mustang convertible with an Alabama tag 3AG5624.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
