Police: Man working on disabled car hit, killed by passing box truck

ATLANTA — Atlanta police are investigating a deadly crash on Interstate 75 Saturday morning.
 
According to police, officers were called out to near Cleveland Avenue at about 6:30 a.m. after reports that a person had be struck by a vehicle. When officers arrived they found the victim dead near the shoulder.
 
Detectives said they believe the victim's vehicle broke down on the shoulder of the interstate. They said the victim had the hood up and was at the front of the vehicle when a passing box truck struck the victim's vehicle and the victim.
 
The driver of the box truck remained at the scene. There are currently no charges filed against the driver of the box truck but the accident remains under investigation.
