SNELLVILLE, Ga. - Snellville police are looking for a burglar with an itch for an unusual item -- bongs.

Police said the man used a brick to smash through a glass door at The Market Store, on Scenic Highway, last week.

He passed up cash in the register, loads of lottery tickets and cigarette cartons, and even cases of wine to grab a handful of the filtration devices normally used to smoke cannabis or tobacco products.

"He was in and out very quickly," said Snellville police Capt. Harold Thomas

The store surveillance video provided to Channel 2's Tony Thomas shows the man pacing back and forth in front of the store Thursday morning.

He then throws a rock through the door closest to a case full of bongs. Within 12 seconds, he dashes in, kicks in the case and runs out with an armful of items.

The store owner says he took more than a $1,000 worth of bongs.

Store employee Sunny Chowdhury has kept the rocks believed to have been used in the smash-and-grab.

There are still empty places on the shelves where the $200-$250 bongs used to sit.

"He knew exactly what he was looking for, he come in, break it, grab it, run. I think that's pretty fool(ish)," said Chowdhury.

"They were expensive bongs. I don't know if he was getting them to sell or use for himself," said Thomas.

Snellville police are asking for tips from anyone who might recognize the man.

Chowdhury believes he's seen the guy before, but he doesn't know his name.

"He comes here, I know his face. I think he comes with a couple of friends," Chowdhury said.
