ATLANTA,None - Police said a 12-year-old boy reported missing Friday afternoon has been found safe.

McKeyeious Edwards was found safe, according to a notice issued at noon Saturday from Atlanta Police Officer John Chafee.

Chafee did not indicate where they discovered the child.

Police said they had been distributing flyers and searching the neighborhood of the child, who was reported missing after school Friday afternoon.

A family friend said she last saw McKeyeious, a Crawford Long Middle School student, Friday afternoon at the Family Dollar on Metropolitan Avenue. Atlanta police said the boy told her that he was going to a friend's house for a sleepover.

McKeyeious' mother said he never made it there and that she was unable to reach the child on his cellphone, police said.
