Police investigate deadly shooting at Cobb apartment complex

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Cobb County police are still searching for a man who gunned down another inside a Riverside Parkway apartment complex.

Neighbors believe the two men were having an argument over a parking space when one pulled a gun and shot the other.

"I just heard a lot of gunshots," said neighbor William Hemphill. "Just a couple of pops at first, and then it ended up being like simultaneous pops."

Other neighbors counted at least seven shots fired.

Cobb County police would not confirm neighbor accounts that the fight started over a parking space. So far, they have not released the names of the people involved.

Other neighbors said the parking situation at night is difficult inside the apartment complex, so they are not surprised a fight over one could have escalated.

"I just think it's real bad, because I know the parking is bad over there," said neighbor Christopher Littlejohn. "But it's terrible that they're shooting someone over a parking spot."

Hemphill thinks the two men other issues before this happened, but it may have come to a head because of the parking space.

"It may be a little more than a parking space, you know, some pride involved and everything," said Hemphill.
