• Police investigating homicide in northeast Atlanta

ATLANTA - Atlanta police are investigating after a woman was found dead inside her apartment.

The family of 49-year-old Janice Hutchinson confirmed her body was found inside her apartment after being reported missing from work for three days.

"State of shock, hurt, devastated, shocked, hurt if anything," Janice's daughter Shuwona Hutchinson said. "My kids are without a grandparent. They are without a sister, and we are left without a friend. Please come forward.

Police said something looked suspicious when they arrived at the victim's apartment on the 300 block of Boulevard in northeast Atlanta.

Police said they believe foul play was involved and are investigating the death as a homicide. They plan to do an autopsy to find out more.

The family is still hoping for someone to come forward.

"If you heard a knock, call the Atlanta police department. That's the only thing," Shuwona said.
