• Injured man found on side of southwest Atlanta road

    ATLANTA - Atlanta police are investigating after an injured man was found on the ground in southwest Atlanta.

    It happened on Laurelmont Drive near Benjamin E. Mays Drive. The victim was taken to Grady Hospital, but his condition is unclear.

    Police said the call initially came in as a hit-and-run. A police sergeant said officers found the victim on the ground, but there was no car or driver. Channel 2 Action News was there as crime scene investigators gathered evidence at the scene sometime before 2:30 a.m. Friday.

    Police are not yet calling it a hit-and-run. They are looking for witnesses for more information.
