Police investigate officer-involved shooting

ATLANTA — Atlanta police are investigating an officer-involved shooting along University Avenue.

Police said the officer pulled over a car at an Exxon station around 9:30 p.m. Monday because the man was driving erratically. When he walked up, the driver threatened him and sped off, injuring the officer, police said.

Police said the officer then fired two shots at the car as it drove off. Officers found the passenger at a local hospital with a bullet wound in his shoulder.

Police said the officer is OK and the passenger is at Atlanta Medical Center South, where he is stable.

Officers tracked down the car and the driver was arrested, police said.
