Police: Couple brought baby to Buckhead armed robberies

BUCKHEAD, Ga. — Atlanta police are asking for help in identifying a couple linked to armed robberies who brought a baby with them.

Police released a photo of a man and woman sitting in front of the Publix across from Phipps Plaza over the weekend.

"We want to make sure everything in our community is safe. We are stepping up our own private patrols, with the help of APD and through the Fulton County Sheriff's Department," Buckhead Heights neighborhood watch president John Bailey said.

Bailey said shortly after the footage was taken at the grocery store, a friend of his was robbed at gunpoint.

"The man came behind him, pointed a gun at the back of his head and said, 'Give me all your money,'" Bailey said.

The footage also reveals that the two had a baby with them.

Neighbors said they were surprised to hear about violent crime in their area.

"I've had a lot of robberies, but this is the first time I've seen them bring a small infant like that with them," Det. E. Johnson said.

Johnson said surveillance footage has showed the pair several times before committing more armed robberies.

Anyone who recognizes the man or woman is asked to call Crimestoppers at 404-577-TIPS.
