Police cite bus driver in death of Paulding pastor

DALLAS, Ga. — Police confirm to Channel 2 Action News the charter bus driver accused of hitting a Paulding County pastor is now facing charges.

Emerson police said they have cited George Carroll for following too closely and second-degree vehicular homicide.

Andrew Pray was riding his bike along U.S. 41 in Bartow County just south of Red Top Mountain State Park when he was hit by a charter bus driven by Carroll.

Paramedics rushed him to a hospital, where he was in critical condition, but he didn't survive.

Pray was a pastor at West Ridge Church in Dallas, Ga.

A visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday at 11 a.m., followed by a celebration at 1 p.m.
