Police chase on GA 400 ends in deadly crash

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga — Georgia State Patrol is investigating a deadly crash on GA 400 northbound in Sandy Springs following a chase.

The call came in around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday after Sandy Springs police officers said they spotted a stolen car out of DeKalb County.

Officers said when they attempted to stop the car on GA 400, the driver tried to make an “erratic” lane change while exiting onto Northridge Road. The car left the roadway and hit several trees.

The driver of the car was killed and three passengers were injured. One of the passengers was taken into surgery and the other two were arrested.

Police have not released the name of the person who died in the crash, but Sandy Springs Police did confirm one of the suspects is a juvenile.
