ATLANTA - Police are investigating after a woman was shot Thursday afternoon at a Kroger in southwest Atlanta.
The Atlanta Police Department told Channel 2 Action News they were called to the Kroger on Cascade Avenue SW just before 1 p.m. When they got there, they found a 19-year-old woman shot at least two times.

Investigators say it appears that two women were fighting in the produce section when a man with one of the women pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the chest.
"A male who was with the suspect produced a handgun at some point and shot the female victim," Sgt. John Chafee with Atlanta police said.
Police are still searching for the shooter and the woman he was with, who took off after the shooting. The victim is at Grady Hospital and is stable.
Channel 2's Tom Jones got to the scene right after the shooting happened. Police tape was strung across the front of the store.
Jones talked to employees and customers who saw it happen and were thankful they weren't in the line of fire. They said they were terrified because bullets were flying everywhere.

One customer said she was standing in line to get a sandwich when she heard the gunshots. She was too scared to show her face on camera.
"They were running," she said. "When they ran, I ran, too."
An employee told Jones that it started out as a normal afternoon until the chaos unfolded.
"We just heard shots and everybody cleared the store," the employee said
Ida Quinn told Jones she was in the back of the store near the pharmacy in her motorized cart when she heard the shots. She said she heard a commotion in the store and an employee told her to get in the pharmacy, which kept her out of harm's way.
"The man told me, he said, 'Come back, Mama, and get behind. Get behind right here.'" Quinn said. "I got back there and he said, 'You stay right there.'"

Quinn said she is still shaken, but glad to be alive.
"Praise God," Quinn said. "I'm still a little nervous. We were in danger because they didn't care where they were shooting."
Police hope surveillance cameras can help them find the shooter. Police are asking anyone who knows the identity of the shooter to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS.
