Police: "America's Most Wanted" fugitive captured on jaywalking offense

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police in DeKalb County have arrested one of "America's Most Wanted" fugitives.

Investigators said they caught Archie Byrd III jaywalking on Wesley Chapel Road in Tucker Thursday afternoon.

Officials said Byrd gave the officer a fake ID.  After further investigation, the officer determined Byrd's true identity and discovered that Byrd was wanted in Clarke County for human trafficking, authorities said.

He was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of giving false information to police, and was taken to the DeKalb County jail, according to jail records.

The human trafficking charge, a felony, awaits him in Clarke County, authorities said.

Byrd had been previously profiled on the "America's Most Wanted" television show in June 2013.
