Ola High School in mourning over passing of football player

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — Friends and family of an Ola High School sophomore are mourning after the sudden death of the teen.

Family members told Channel 2's Eric Philips that Jason Holland passed out at his home Wednesday night and died Friday.

The family said doctors are still trying to determine what happened and an autopsy was being done on Holland to find out the cause of his death.

Family members told Philips doctors were able to rule out a heart attack or a stroke through tests. The family also said Holland's death had nothing to do with him being a football player for the school.

In the statement on the school's Facebook page, officials remembered Holland as "a friend, dedicated student, and a well-loved member of our Ola High School family."

Funeral arrangements are currently being made for Holland.
