• Body found in car at Buford apartment complex

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - Gwinnett County police are investigating a deadly shooting at a Buford apartment complex.

The shooting happened at the Reserve at Ivy Creek Apartments on Appaloosa Lane on Thursday night.

Neighbors say they heard at least four gunshots before a man's body was found in the driver's seat of a car.

Officers say the vehicle was parked in the back of the complex with the driver’s door wide open.

“Officers arrived on scene about seven minutes later and located a vehicle in the cul-de-sac with a deceased male inside the car,” said Sgt. Brian Doan, with Gwinnett County police.

Police identified the victim as 22-year-old Reginald Bien-Aime, of Buford.

Detectives could not say if Bien-Aime was shot from inside the car or if someone fired shots while standing outside the car.

“It is the initial stages of the investigation so I think people will come forward or we will be able to locate some people once our detectives are done doing their job,” said Doan.

Police said there is no description of the shooter, who is still at large.

The complex is a gated community, but overnight Channel 2’s Darryn Moore noticed the gates were left open.
