Turtles stolen from Johns Creek nature preserve returned safely

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. — Five turtles stolen from a nature preserve in Johns Creek last week have made their way back home.

The Autrey Mill Nature Preserve posted pictures and videos on its Facebook page of the turtles being taken last week.

The video shows three young teenagers walking into the box turtle enclosure and taking the turtles out of the preserve.

PETA got involved in the search efforts for the turtles. They offered a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the safe return of the turtles and the conviction of the “kidnappers” behind their disappearance.

Officials with the Autrey Mill Nature Preserve say the turtles are now back in their homes.

There is no word on how they were returned or if any arrests have been made in this case.
