Neighbors captured the moments before Fincher Road washed away on Saturday afternoon.

First responders had to rescue homeowner Regina Bishop and her family as the water continued to rise.

“When the road caved in, all of the water went swoosh,” said Bishop. “We had to be rescued from the house. Water was waste-deep that I had to walk through to save my dog.”

The water has since subsided, and crews spent most of the day on Monday working to repair the road.

Meanwhile, Bishop is working to repair the damage to her home that she’s lived in for more than 50 years.

“It’s expensive, because I’m having to buy gas for two generators just to keep a little air going in the house,” said Bishop.

“We’ve been needing the rain, but we didn’t need that much,” said Jones.
