Neighbor accused of burglary found hiding under bed

BROOKHAVEN, Ga. — A woman accused of burglarizing her neighbor's home was found hiding under a bed in Brookhaven Wednesday.
 
According to Brookhaven police, officers were called to a home on Winding Lane in reference to a burglary. When officers began to search the area for witnesses and other information, they noticed an open door to the house next door. After trying to make contact to see if anyone was inside the home, officers entered the home to check on the welfare of the home's occupants.
 
Officers found items matching the description of property that they just documented as stolen from house next door.  They also found 40-year-old Rebecca Turner hiding under a bed inside the home.
 
Officers determined Turner broke into the home the previous day. 
 
Turner was charged with four counts of theft by receiving and is currently being held in the DeKalb County Detention Center.
