• Motorcyclist among 3 fatalities over holiday weekend


    COBB COUNTY, Ga. - A motorcyclist killed early Saturday was among the three fatalities reported across Georgia during the early part of the Memorial Day holiday weekend, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.

    Cobb County police said the motorcyclist, whose name has not been released, died in a crash around 1:30 a.m. Saturday at Dodgen and Allen roads in south Cobb.

    The other two fatalities that had been reported by noon Saturday occurred in Lafayette in the northwest corner of the state and in Putnam County southeast of metro Atlanta, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

    The holiday traffic counting period began at 6 p.m. on Friday and continues through midnight on Monday.
