Rainfall totals through Thursday will range between 1-2 inches across the metro with 4 inches or more possible in the eastern part of the state, according to Burns.

The front will move northeast into the evening Wednesday and as the rain moves out, colder air will start to move in.

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brad Nitz said there is a possibility of light snow in the north Georgia mountains Thursday evening.
