The mother of a toddler, who died in a hot car in 2014, has filed for divorce from her husband, who is accused in the boy’s death.
Channel 2's source learned paperwork for Leanna Harris was filed Wednesday, citing "irreconcilable differences." The filing has not yet appeared on the court docket, but we're seeking to obtain a copy of the papers.
Harris' husband, Justin Ross Harris, is facing a malice murder charge in the death of his son, Cooper, who died after being locked inside his father's SUV for nearly seven hours on a hot day in June 2014. Police say Harris killed the child deliberately and then pretended that he had forgotten to drop Cooper off at daycare. He has been in jail ever since. His trial is scheduled to begin April 11.
